Hall Monitor Respect

Why do students feel they do not have to respect the hall monitors? They will give you respect, if you return the favor. I feel, as a junior, that students who are rude and do not listen to the hall monitors are so illiterate. I really dislike how they get mad at the staff, when they are just doing their jobs. They have asked, they have begged, and they have yelled at students to get to class on time. Do you think they like giving students detention? It just makes more work for them. They want us to have our freedom, but we can’t have all our free rights, or more students will start ditching class and smoking on school grounds. I think it is so dumb to treat the hall monitors badly they have done nothing wrong to you, and if they have done something to you, like yell at you, you probably deserved it. Statistics say more than 50% of students disrespect hall monitors threw out the year. Not only are you making yourself look stupid by disrespecting staff your also making you fellow students look bad, by not respecting your elders. It’s not right to treat people bad. As my father still says treat people the way you want to be treated. What do you think it’s like to be a hall monitor? Do you think it’s easy keeping track of hundreds of kids? It’s not very easy to keep track of a bunch of kids, with just a couple of walkie-talkies. At Park High School, the Hall Monitors are extremely nice to every student that gives them respect and listen to them. Cathy is super funny and has a great personality. She makes me get to class on time and stay out of trouble. There is so need to be disrespectful and rude to the staff; they are just trying to help you get through high school easier and faster, with flying colors. I think it’s truly wrong and immoral, when staff will break up a fight and the students will get mad at them. It’s not their fault they are just doing their jobs. If they let all those fights happen at Park High half the student population would be suspended. Please make it a more serious issue when students disrespect staff.
