Members from the Park High School Business Professionals of America competed at the 2009 State Leadership Conference (SLC) from March 12-14, at the Minneapolis Hyatt Regency. The students qualified for SLC at the Region 2 competition by placing in their events, or participating in Special Recognition Awards or Torch Awards. The students had three days full of fun, competition, and exploring downtown Minneapolis. The competitions began on Thursday morning and continued throughout the entire day. Thursday night all of the attendees attended the opening session where they welcomed students to the conference and gave out Statesman Torch Awards to Cory Hunt, Allycia Mayers, Cheng Kong, and Tony Urbanski. The competitions continued the next day with over 600 students competing. We also had a great time meeting our fellow BPA members from around the state of Minnesota.
