to make things happen,

just waking up in the morning to another lonely day,

taking a shower, brushing our teeth,

dressing to express ourselves, adding a hint of cologne

 

All we do, we do is futile,

trying to attract love, when there is nothing to be found,

the fun of flirting, the awkward eyes meeting,

all for nothing for love is just a game

 

We move on in life, hoping day after day,

that we’ll meet the one,

wanting to hold someone special in our arms,

wanting the tender kiss of another,

wanting a real relationship,

full of affection, and even conflict

 

Wanting is one thing and getting is another,

one is a reality; the other is a fantasy,

caring for someone is real, whilst love is a joke
