Senior Internships Available
October 2, 2008
Getting out of school early, having an hour lunch break, barely any homework, and working with children for part of your day. Interested? Then consider signing up for the “Senior Service Occupational Internship”. As a Senior Intern, you are a teacher’s aid and assist the young students at the different elementary schools. You will read story books to the kids, and tutor them in difficult areas such as Math, Reading, Writing, and Spelling.
“They are so cute, they want to be your friend and learn with you,” says Ashley Jagush, a senior intern, “they make it so much fun!”
Having senior interns are important because they help the children grow in more areas then just educational ones. Through the help of interns, the children grow emotionally and socially through interaction with older students.
“The kids really enjoy it; the interns are so important in more than just helping with prep time,” explains Mrs. Twedt, a second grade teacher at Pine Hill Elementary School, “the interns really do bring a fresh, positive attitude towards the kids.”
To sign up to be a Senior Intern, visit Mrs. Cosy and she will provide you with more information.
“The internship really does give you a sense of extraordinary importance, and that’s a good feeling to have,” says Mrs. Cosy, the Internship Director, “it’s worth it, check it out!”
